Faris is a strategist, writer, public speaker, creative director, geek and the founder of GeniusSteals LLC, an ideas & innovation consultancy.
Before that he was Chief Innovation Officer of MDC and founding partner of Spies&Assassins, the creative technology boutique. Previously, he was Chief Digital Officer at McCann Erickson NY, and Global Digital Strategy & Creative Director at Naked Communications.
He’s won and judged numerous awards, strategic and creative, served as chairman of the Content&Contact and Integrated juries for the Clios, created the NEW category for the London International Awards, and has taught at Miami Ad School and BDW Masterclasses.
He was named one of the most respected planners in the world by his peers in The Planning Survey, and one of 10 modern day Madmen by Fast Company, where he is also a creativity contributor.
He writes on technology, media, brands and creativity for a variety of publications including FastCompany, Forbes, Contagious and many publications with the word Ad in the title. He is a co-author of the book Digital State: How the Internet Changes Everything, published by Kogan Page June 2013, and is lucky enough to be invited to speak all over the world. He consulted on, and briefly featured in, The Greatest Movie Ever Sold by Morgan Spurlock.
He has a Master's Degree from Oxford University and won the President's Prize for his IPA Excellence Diploma Thesis.
