Partner and Managing Director Creation / Scholz & Friends Berlin

In 1997 he started his career at Scholz & Friends with stations in Hamburg, Zurich and Berlin. Since 2007 he is responsible for the creative performance of the Berlin office. 

Matthias Spaetgens numbers among the most awarded German creatives. His work, amongst others for Mercedes-Benz, A. Lange & Söhne, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, STIHL, jobsintown.de and Weru, was awarded at various award shows, amongst others with more than twenty Lions in Cannes and six times the Grand Prix at international creative festivals. 

From 2007 to 2009 he attended the international School of Creative Leadership graduating as Executive MBA. He is a member of the Art Directors Club of Germany and Switzerland as well as the British D&AD. Spaetgens heads the department of Communication Design as a professor at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna/Austria.
