Global Chief Creative Officer / Young & Rubicam
Tony Granger is Global Chief Creative Officer of Young & Rubicam and architect of the company's global creative community.
Since arriving at Young & Rubicam in 2008, Tony has attracted some of the industry’s best creative talent and fully integrated digital into the agency.
He has also built a global creative community in both spirit and practice. As a result, all of Y&R's clients — anywhere in the world — get access to precisely the right creative talent they need to create the most appropriate and powerful work.
Creating a collaborative creative culture has resulted in great work and results for clients such as LG, Virgin Atlantic, Land Rover, Dell, Xerox and JCPenney.
It’s also earned great industry recognition. Since Tony’s arrival, the agency moved up to number five from 14th in the Gunn Report, a reflection of the agency’s strong performance at the most prestigious international creative competitions. At this past Cannes Lions in June 2013, Y&R enjoyed its best performance ever — the agency was named the fourth agency network in the world. Y&R’s agencies won 66 Lions across 14 categories, including a prestigious Titanium Lion.
Before joining Y&R, Tony spent five years at Saatchi & Saatchi. There, too, he led the agency’s creative transformation. He led a similar renaissance at Bozell New York. Tony began his career in his native South Africa, where he led TBWA/Hunt Lascaris, a shop of proud heritage and creative pedigree.
Tony and his agencies have won many awards, and he’s been fortunate to serve as president of several international juries. But he’s most proud to have shaped top creative agencies, and worked with the world’s most sought-after clients on some of the most recognized and influential global brands. He is excited about the future of the business and this industry.
Besides the classic Aderwise categories, Tony shared his top 10 songs of all time as well:
